From vision to reality

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and; lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – Matthew 28:19-20

The vision to reach out to people of other nations is now a reality through worldwide broadcasts of the religious programs of the Members Church of God International via the radio, television and the World Wide Web. Our mission to establish a foothold across different countries is not an easy task. It entails speaking and delivering the divine and undefiled Gospel of God for people to understand God’s Words in their own language.

Realizing that our Church’s mission for global evangelization necessitates using different languages in the reading of Biblical scruples, the Church has stepped up efforts to include multi-dialectic and multi-lingual delivery of Biblical verses catering to our countrymen and foreign audiences.

With the aid of modern technology, the Church was able to produce, gather and integrate different Bible translations and versions into various Church-related broadcasts and religious propaganda. Aside from English, the most commonly understood language, we are now able to read the Holy Scriptures in languages that non-English speakers would easily comprehend and understand in their mother tongue.

And now, more than ever, we are being understood, linguistically speaking. Bible Expositions with the aid of technology are held every now and then from different parts of the Philippines and abroad such as USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

The Church’s multi-lingual method of evangelizing the Word of God could be traced back from the early years when Brother Eli Soriano started his religious propaganda in some of the Philippines’ remotest towns in Pampanga, Bulacan and Bataan.

The Old Path Bible Project

For millions of people, the Bible is only a dream while others simply ignore or take the Bible for granted. It is in this light that we aim, through ADDBible.com, to encourage appreciation of the Holy Scriptures in native languages because there are people who have to read God’s Words in a “foreign language”.

Of the more than 6,500 languages spoken globally, the Holy Scriptures exists in only about 2,500. Many of the Scriptures that do exist are in out-dated language and are virtually impossible for today's readers to understand.

Worldwide, there is a progressive effort to translate the Bible in clear, modern languages that are easily understandable for today’s readers. In more than 500 languages, some parts of the Bible were translated for the first time. Over the last two hundred years, there has been an incredible growth in the number of languages the Holy Scriptures were written.

The Members Church of God International, through the relentless effort of its spiritual leader, Bro. Eli Soriano, introduced to Philippine broadcast history the use of a computerized bible verse splash screens. In propagating the Word of God, whenever a verse is read during biblical discussions, the splash screens are used. This started in early 2000. Four years later, Biblical readings not only included the King James Version and the Ang Biblia (The Old Tagalog, 1982), but other versions and translations that were introduced in the passing of years.

It was also during the course of these years that this Bible project was introduced as a Bible search engine for the official Church websites. On May 2005, the Church unveiled this project—ADDBible.com.

Mission Statement

Coming up with an online Bible search tool, that can be used to search the Bible by keywords or verse, began from the desire to separate the simple Bible search tool in the “Ang Dating Daan” (The Old Path) website to a new, independent website. The objective is to expand coverage including a more comprehensive collection of Bible translations, versions and concordances. It will also include Bible history and related articles but for serious studies of Christian writings.;

Our mission is to make this Bible search companion more useful for your careful study of religious topics and articles. Some are presented in the official doctrinal websites of the Church of God International. We hope that ADDBible.com will make different translations and versions of the Bible accessible, easily read, and understood.

ADDBible.com is extremely grateful to many Bible translation groups that have helped us in various ways in this endeavor. We give special mention to e-Sword.net, International Bible Society (IBS), United Bible Societies (UBS) and the Philippine Bible Society (PBS) for their resources and Bible translations and versions.
